I am not wearing makeup, because I did not go to the DPS to get my license renewed this morning, and I did not have to look pretty. I did not renew my license because my birthday is not tomorrow. I do not have to look older, because I am not going to the movies to get into an R movie on my would-be 17th birthday. That would all be preposterous.
I'm just attending a Fabuary party later today.
For some reason, I look weirdly tall in this picture.

Ohhh Leap Day....
So today is the day that only comes every four years. Yes, today is what makes our challenge "366", as opposed to "365". Leap day. I got a super cute dress as a gift from my grandma on her Las Vegas trip, and I couldn't wait to use it, even though its much more of a summer dress. I thought, since it's leap day, lets mix some seasonal colors. I took the "blacks" of fall and winter, and mixed it with my light pink and white dress of summer. I really like this outfit a lot, and it's perfect for a little "day date". :) Heres to Leap Day, and the last day of the second month!

Some Call It Cocky...
A few years ago, my family had pet peacocks. We only had a few males, but every spring they would grow their beautiful tail feathers, and every summer/fall they would lose them all. As a result, we have quite a few feathers decorating our house, and my family - especially my mom and me - are in love with any peacock design. Our friends know this, and they like giving us things with peacock feathers on them. Some good friends gave me this bracelet for my birthday, and I wanted to wear it as soon as possible! I'm not a huge fan of the shoulders on this shirt, but it went well with the bracelet, so I wore it.

I'm A Gangsta'!
The definition of "gangster" has changed over time, but really it has the same meaning. A gangster is someone who doesn't usually play by the rules, and has that reputation. I am a "gangster", but not he same type of gangster we have in our world today. I'm a 1920's gangster. I saw a picture online yesterday, while doing a school report on the 20's, of a gangster sneaking in to a speak easy. He seemed to have such class, and a persona of "I can do whatever I want". So, with that idea in mind, I brought together some pieces in my closet to create my own female version of a 1920's gangster. Its really interesting to me. I don't know if I can really pull it off! Once again, I'm taking a lot of different costume pieces and using them for real life!

All I Need Is a Hipster Hat
My friend Eviva got me this cardigan for my birthday, and I'm still getting over it. It's so pretty, and you know how much I love cardigans! I also got the necklace and bracelet for my birthday - my friends have such good taste :) I think I might have to change this up sometime and add a collared shirt and bowtie, because the sweater + vest combo reminds me of a college professor....and who doesn't want to look like that?

Strawberry Necklace!
So as I was searching for my outfit this morning, I came across a very small necklace with a strawberry on it. I love strawberries, and strawberry flavored candies and such. I thought, "well, why not center the outfit around such a cute necklace!". I found this really awesome dark green v-necked shirt, which happens to be one of my favorites, blue jean skirt, my boots, and a sequined red bow. BAM. There was the outfit. It's interesting to see what comes out when you center your entire outfit around such a small piece. :) I really do love it!

It's A Science
I don't have that many dress/sweater combinations that I can make, but I've always liked the idea of pairing the two. I tried on three dresses this morning before finding one that worked. This dress can actually barely qualify as such because it's so short, but I folded the bodice down and turned it into a decent-length skirt. It wasn't terribly flattering from the side, but I really like the overall result. It always excites me when little experiments like this work out :)

No, I Didn't Forget! (Day Two) and Entering The Capri's!
So, I promise I didn't forget yesterday about posting. I wore my outfit in the morning and had rehearsal clothes on the rest of the day. By the time I got home, I was swamped with homework and other such duties, and could not pursue the blog. This pic, like Abbie's not too long ago, Is not me wearing it.... because I'm too tired to change back into it at this point. I'll be sure and document everything I wore though. Its really a very cute outfit, and I love it!

Now, Today is kind of an exciting day. Today is Abbie's Birthday Party. (Her birthday is next week for those of you who don't know... March 1st!). We're gonna be running around at Miller most of the day, so I thought I might as well wear something comfy, and pretty flowy. Also, I ran out of long jeans this morning. I havent had much time to run by the laundry and wash my jeans, so today enters my capri's! The ones i'm wearing, are my fave, and I'm sure you'll see them often!

Casually Comfortable
Surprise - I have rehearsal for five hours today. Also, surprise - I'm going the t-shirt and sweats route. Once I get to dance rehearsal I'll actually change into a maxi skirt, but since I don't really like maxi skirts and I'll only be wearing it for a few hours, you don't get to see it...yet. I'm sure that will change soon!

Simply Gorgeous
The weather this morning was so nice - perfect temperature, just a hint of sun - that I felt compelled to wear something pretty. I was starting to miss this cardigan (^.^), so of course I had to put it on. It's chillier now, so when I leave the house again I'll be putting on a much heavier jacket.

The Weather Needs To Decide On A Temperature!
Okay, so this bi-polar weather is starting to drive me crazy. I wore that long sleeve outfit for the Rockets game on Wednesday, and I was sweating. Now, I go out in this cute blue plaid short sleeve and its COLD. What is this? Why can't the weather decide on what temperature to stay at? I would really appreciate it. My outfits would too! This outfit, I have worn several times in the past. I wanted to get it out of the way for that very reason. I like the shirt, I just wore it too many times when I got it.

The Opposite of Christmas in July
I would like to say that, when worn with a sweater, shorts are perfectly fine and seasonally appropriate ;) It was actually a little chilly outside when we were eating lunch (on a concrete patio, with the wind blowing), so my arms were warm and my legs were COLD.
I really like this outfit. I love this sweater, but it can sometimes seem boring if it's paired with normal jeans. When it's with cherry red shorts, though, it's perfect! The shorts might make it look like the Fourth of July's come early, but I'm just showing my patriotism now, when I actually have red, white, and blue to wear - there's a sad lack of royal blue in my closet.

I Wish I Could Label Myself As....
... A thrifter. I have never thrifted in my life, yet a girl in Ragtime asked my yesterday if I was one. But I'm not! I simply come up with ideas I see on thrifting websites. Today's outfit is pretty laid back, but I really like the style of the outfit. Its not completly lindy, but it is lindy in that same way. In the pic, you can't see the boots, but i'm wearing my lace ups!

I Don't Play By The Rules!
Okay, so I decided I didn't want to change between now and the Rockets game Abbie and I are singing at later. I never want to have to wear this again, either. So, they sent us an email about what we had to wear, and my first reaction was.... ummm.... yuck! They said we had to wear a button down, long sleeve collared shirt (specific much?), a knee length skirt, and dark shoes. Well, I needed to jazz this outfit up. I was desperate to make it more exciting. So, I did! Here is my never-going-to-wear-this-again combination:)

Holding On
Lindy got me this scarf for Valentine's Day. Isn't it pretty? It's super silky, too. Like, I-didn't-know-scarves-could-feel-this-good silky. And one of the stripes matches my hair pretty well ;)
I almost wore shorts today, because the temperature is creeping up (Noooo!), but decided on jeans because I have about eight months of shorts to look forward to. I'm holding on to cool weather clothes as long as I can - my shorts are woefully...not lacking, but not pretty like jeans and tights. Woefully boring? Meh. I'm not a huge fan of shorts. Unless they're bright red and high waisted.

Feelin' Dapper
I thought of this outfit at the beginning of the year, but I wasn't sure I was brave enough to wear it until now. And...I kind of love it. A lot. I only wish I had black oxfords and ginormous 80's glasses to go with it! I've already gotten lots of compliments on it, which makes me like it even more. It's just so...weird. And I love weird :) (The bowtie is actually a hair bow [another freebie from Modcloth] that I stuck on with a safety pin. I'm psyched it actually stayed on!)

Ohhh That Printed Scarf...
There are so many great things about having a printed scarf. I love the design and the colors on this thing, and it really has the potential to complete an outfit. Today, I thought i'd just wear this v-neck, but it really seemed like something was missing. Then SHABAM. I found the printed scarf, tied it in a simple knot, and then the outfit seemed a lot more interesting. I really like the muted colors of todays outfit, also. I'm not a whiz for bold colors, so this outfit suits my personal taste.

School Girl Wannabee
For some reason, this outfit reminds me of going to school. Maybe it's because of the collared shirt, because I'm not a big fan of collared shirts. I think also the fact that i'm wearing "fake sperry's". Its like... the classic schoolgirl outfit. Unlike Abbie, I was never one of those "school girl wannabee's". I don't like the fact of wearing a school uniform, simply because I don't like the look of school uniforms (except maybe a plaid skirt.... I could go for that!). None the less, here is my outfit!

I wanted to save this sweater for fall, because that's when I got it and it just feels like a fall sweater to me. However, this morning I was searching for things to wear and picked it up...and I was gone. We're A Seventh of the Way Done?!
It seems kind of hard to believe that we've already done 50 outfits - and that there have already been 50 days this year! It's a little scary, too; time seems to be passing by so quickly. Like Lindy said, go over to our outfit pages and tell us which of the 50 you've liked the most! We love getting your emails!
This shirt is actually a dress, but I tucked it up into the bodice and threw a belt on. I kind of love turning dresses (temporarily) into shirts - it opens up a whole new field of outfit possibilitites, and some of my dresses - like this one - would make really lovely shirts.

Outfit Number 50?
So, We're already at day 50. 50 different outfits.... and 316 to go. Its crazy how the time has gone by, and I really do love this blog experience. I thought, since its sort of a semi-special day, I'd wear one of my other favorite dresses. Its a Forever 21 dress, and its a little short, but it brings up great memories, and its fun and flattering.
Since it's day 50, Id like YOU to tell us your favorite outfit so far! You've got lots to choose from!

Mmm...Pizza
I am looking super gorgeous today because I got about five hours of sleep in a tent during a thunderstorm that almost flooded the BARN my scout crew was sleeping in, then had a super busy day. Yay. I'm tired.
When I wear this shirt, I realize that there are two types of people in this world: Those who get it, because they're cool, and those who want to know just why I'm wearing the face of a chubby, 30 year old man with the mustache of a pedophile who apparently really loves pizza on my shirt. For the most part, I get the latter reaction. And have no idea how to explain it.

The Place Where Dreams Come True
When I was in 7th grade, our family went to Walt Disney World. I had a BLAST on that trip. Of course, my favorite part was the roller coasters and the big "Splash Mountain" in Magic Kingdom, but we also got the chance to meet Mickey and Minnie. It was such a cute moment. When we went to the World of Disney store the day we left, I knew I had to get a Disney Shirt. The one I'm wearing today was my choice. Its hard to believe I got this shirt like... 4 and a half years ago, and still fits me like a glove. I've got rehearsal all day today, so I was going for comfy but easy looking.

Before I Go
I'm actually not going to be in this outfit all day, because I'm leaving for a campout this afternoon. But, since you've already seen my fashion-forward Venture Scout uniform (albeit not on me), I figured I would give you a cute outfit! I got this shirt for Christmas last year, after my mom and I (at different times) saw it on Modcloth and thought it was adorable/incredibly me. I know you can't see the detailing too well because of my good friend, the red Liberty of London scarf, but it's pretty much black buttons and piping. Tres adorable!
(Apparently Fridays put me in a French mood? I don't know.)

R.I.P. Grishko Triumph's
So, Abbie and I take ballet/ pointe on fridays. I've had these pointe shoes, my first pair, for around 5-6 months. It was only a few weeks ago did I start feeling my toes on the ground and it was quite painful. I realized then- my beautiful first pair of pointe shoes, my Triumphs, were dying and dead. It's quite a sad death, but I plan to hang them in my room with pride. I planned a new fitting right on time, though. I'm getting fitted for new shoes today, right before class! I must say, i'm excited! The box was too thin on my Grishko's, and the box was also too wide for my feet. Either way, they weren't the shoe for me. Now, on to my outfit. I really didn't feel like changing twice today, so i'm just wearing my dance clothes and some comfy sweats. I love comfy sweats!

Farmville Fabulous
As some of you know, my mom got chickens for Christmas (yes, we homeschool), because she always wants fresh eggs. In a month and a half, the four oldest have already grown (near) full size and actually look like chickens - it's kind of funny to look back at the pictures we took when they were chicks. Anyway, they're roaming free in our yard until my dad has time to build a chicken coop for them, so they sometimes get in the way of these pictures. Or, like today, we decide to include them - blurry, flapping wings and all.
This outfit was inspired by an article I saw on a blog. I'm intrigued by the idea of mixing prints, but usually have no idea how to do it/my clothes' patterns are all too vivid to mix together. I really liked the idea of a textured sweater over a floral shirt - and this time, I actually had the clothes to do it! I really like the final result, and hope you do too!

The Zebra Shirt.
I got this shirt a couple of years ago on the sale rack with my cousin , Meredith. Her and I thought it would be fun to go shopping a few days after thanksgiving, so we found these two shirts so we could match! I loved it back then, and even though I still like it now, it isn't as flattering as it used to be. I've lost a couple of pounds since I was a freshman, and this shirt has become a little too big. It kind of swallows me. Even though I still like it, I don't like it as much as I used to. I hope you enjoy it though!

Pianissimo
I love my piano, and it seemed to fit in well with my outfit today. For some reason, in winter I am incredibly attracted to muted colors (what a difference from the other three seasons!), and this outfit definitely shows that! To me, the color scheme almost feels antique - something else I love, thanks to my parents - even if the clothes most definitely aren't. Well, aside from my necklace, which I actually bought at my mom's antique store.

I Found My Black Flats!
After searching my closet, my old black flats appeared. I got my black boots for christmas, so before that, the only black shoes I owned were these flats. I used them A LOT last year. For that very reason, i'm trying to not use them as much this year. Somehow, I saw them in my closet, and I thought they'd look great with this outfit. Also, my necklace i'm wearing.... a Valentine's gift from Abbie! Do you like it? Because I certainly do!

With Love From Me, To You
Looks like Lindy and I had the same idea...again! I love me some Beatles, and they undoubtedly have some of the most Valentine's-appropriate songs. As you can see, my closet did not miraculously turn pink for Valentine's Day (the only day of the year I wish I had something of that shade...), so I went the girly route instead! Because girly and pink and love go hand in hand, right? I got this bow as a Modcloth freebie, and I (actually) really like it, even if it kind of reminds me of a banana split. All the bows were overwhelming me, so I paired it with a leather jacket and settled into more comfortable territory ;) I hope everyone had an awesome/sweet/romantic Valentine's Day and got to enjoy way too many sweets!

All You Need Is Love
My favorite band is The Beatles. Their music is just like.... heaven in song. I've been saving this shirt JUST for today, because it's my favorite band with one of my favorite "messages" they've sent to the world. All you need is love. Today, Valentine's Day is a representation to that. So to my family, M, D, T, Z, Abbie, and MANY MANY more, I love you. If you're reading this blog, I probably love you. Have a great valentines day, and no matter if you're single or not, have a day full of LOVE! 'cause "love is all you need..."

Comfy Cozy
Somehow, my room is always the coldest room in the house. Usually, I really appreciate this. I can't stand being hot and would rather curl up under multiple blankets than have a warm room at night. However, when I have to drag myself out of bed, tired and cold...it's no fun at all. So I put a cozy sweater and green fuzzy socks (took 'em off for the picture) on - and then threw a sweatshirt on over them! My mom finally caved and turned our heater on, so I was actually relatively warm once I left the cold confines of my bedroom!

Ohhh Sweet Mystery of Life- At Last I've Found Thee!
So, Abbie and I are going on a little "Valentine's Date" today to look for costume pieces for our Hunger Games capitol costumes. I thought since it was almost Valentines Day, i'd pull out my cute, pink dress. I got this dress with my friend Staci a while back... almost two years ago. I origionally got it as an audition dress to wear for my Thoroughly Modern Millie audition, as I was auditioning for Miss Dorothy, but now, I use it all the time. I like this dress a lot, and I wish you could see the back! Its got a lacy pattern on the back, and I really like it!
Also, I brought back my oxfords. I LOVE these shoes, and I wish I could wear them more often!

Cardigan In Near-Freezing Weather? Check.
Isn't it funny how some little things just seem to stick in your mind? I wore this exact outfit once, a year ago, but I've been wanting to wear it again for a long time! I love my pencil skirt more than your average sixteen-year-old girl - come to think of it, how many of us actually own pencil skirts? - and like all of my favorite outfits, this one has a quirky/retro vibe to it.
It was FREEZING outside when I went to take my picture this morning! Of course, I get in the car and see that it's 35 degrees outside - and all I'm wearing is a cardigan. Of course, my brothers were in short sleeves and one was wearing shorts, so I guess I don't have any room to complain. You know it's chilly when THEY'RE cold!

Chilly, Sunny, Beautiful.
I'm wearing a short sleeve because i'll be inside most of the day, but this is a very cute outfit and I couldn't help but take it outside. Its pretty chilly out, but thats the type of weather I love. Its also very sunny, which I also love. Its so beautiful outside- I wish it would stay. This is a very cute outfit. I love the shirt. It was a hand me down, but I wore it the first day I got it. There are so many myths about how stripes make you look, but really, this shirt is very flattering.

ACT: Actually Crazy Tired.
I don't know if you've kept up with my schedule as much as I have (I sure hope you haven't), but i've been very busy lately. Yesterday I worked, then had class, then went to a show with Abbie. The show was Riverdance- and it was actually super cool. Cute guys irish dancing was the main theme. Of course, I didn't get home till nearly midnight.
After that crazy late night, I got up super early, 6:45, and went to take the ACT over at a local high school. Keep in mind, this college entrence exam, like the SAT, is 5 hours long. After a late night, I was super tired during the test. As soon it was over, I had to go to a 5 hour Ragtime rehearsal. I had NO intention of looking cute in any way. I just knew this was going to be a very long, very tiring day, so I grabbed my sweatpants, a longsleeve comfy shirt, and ran out the door.

How Can You Tell I Have Rehearsal All Day?
The sweatpants and fashionable mix of black, brown, and navy, of course. This is a very a) it's chilly outside and b) I have a five-hour-long rehearsal today type outfit. It's super comfortable, though!
Whenever I go see a show (especially if it's one of my favorites), I usually try to get a shirt or some sort of souvenir (at the overpriced merchandise booth!). When I saw A Chorus Line two years ago, I didn't like any of the shirts and the jackets were something like $60, so I got these pants - which was kind of a weird buy for me. I usually end up sleeping in them when it's cold outside, but occasionally, on days like these, they get to see the sun.

All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go
One of the problems with homeschooling is that sometimes, you don't leave the house all day. On Wednesday, I went outside once - to go on a Sonic run for my little brother. I reserved this outfit for Friday, because that's normally the day where we're so busy I don't get much school done and we go lots of different places and whatnot. But I woke up this morning, all excited to wear this dress, and my mom told me we weren't going to our normal Friday places because my brother is still sick. (He got the flu earlier this week.) So it looks like I won't be leaving the house - again - until this afternoon, for ballet. At least I'm going to a show with Lindy tonight - my cute outfit won't entirely go to waste!
I'm pretty sure Lindy has been waiting for me to wear this dress - I think she likes it just as much as I do! I've had a little trouble figuring out different ways to wear it - which is odd, since it's a just shirtdress - and that's why I haven't worn it yet. I can't use up too many options too fast!

Also, we've finally put up pages with all of our outfits on them! They're up top, above the search bar. Go on and take a look!

From Costume, to Cutie!
I am an actress. I am ALL about costumes. When I go to movie premires, it is only fun if I dress up in a costume. Like, seriously, it's the best part. Also, I've got tons of old costume pieces and shoes from over the years. I was looking for something interesting again today, and I found this white button down shirt. I got it at Walmart for like 10 dollars.... for a costume to wear at a Harry Potter premire. Little did I know I could even use it later! Also, the shoes, I needed old fashioned 50's keds for a production I was in 5 (screeech! can that be true?) years ago. They still fit quite nicely actually. So my lesson for today is, if you go searching for a costume for halloween, movie premire, etc, try and use it again!

Chevron Stripes
My aunt gave me this scarf for Christmas, and I love it! The colors are so pretty in their muted little ways, I love the pattern (I am a stripes kind of girl - chevron or not), and it's thin enough to wear year round. Well....theoretically. You probably won't see me in many scarves come summer!

Fabulous! (That Is My Simple Request)
So almost 3 years ago, in the summer of 2009, I did HSM2 with Houston Center Stage Theatre, in conjunction with Lone Star College- Cy Fair. It was an amazing experience, because during the summer, we did a 4th of july performance. Since our Sharpay couldn't make it, I was told to play the role at the event. It was SO much fun. At the time, I needed a red shirt to wear (to represent HSM2) and we went to this local store called LA Fashion (which is closed now) and found this shirt. I don't LOVE it, but since i've been feeling "out of the norm" lately, I thought i'd give it a go.

Doubling Up
If you hadn't noticed yet, I absolutely adore tights - colored, patterened, crocheted. These are the tights that originally started my obsession. My friend Erin and I bought identical pairs on sale at Anthropologie and took them on trips to opposite sides of the country. I love these tights, but they're so thin that when you put them on, the color disappears and you look like, as people have so kindly told me, you have a skin disease. To make them more saturated, I put on rust colored tights under the floral ones - and now they're nice and dark and definitely not skin-colored. Hoorah!

Lets Use These While We Can!
The weather has been SO nice. Its rarely been to 70 degrees, even in the afternoon. Since it's stayed cool in the morning, I thought I may as well use the cool weather stuff, like this furry jacket, scarf, and a short sleeve turtleneck. Lets use it while I can, right? I love using browns. Browns suit my skin tone, and compliment my new auburn hair color. I wouldn't say this is my favorite outfit of all time, but I do like it a lot! Winter please last longer!!

Fire Engine Red
I got these red skinnies in the fall, and I've had trouble finding things I already own to pair with them. The general rule with red skinny jeans is no slim-fitting tops, which basically describes most of my shirts! I've worn this shirt/sweater combo with regular skinny jeans before, so I thought, "Why not?" The shirt's a vintage one that my mom bought in the '80s, so it has rather puffy sleeves. I don't usually wear it without a sweater on top, so even though it's a summer shirt it tends to show up only when it's cold outside. I'm sorry my hair is covering up most of the embroidery - next time I wear it, I'll try to brush my hair back or wear it up.

Thinkin' Too Much Pink!
I thought I didn't have very much pink in my closet. Well, I guess I was wrong, because almost every day do I find something pink. I was a very girly girl when I was younger, but I didn't realize how much pink I actually bought until now. This is also kind of a "never going to wear this combination again because I don't like it" type of day. Since I don't quite enjoy the color pink, and since winter never lasts long here, lets grab that pink long- sleeve and never wear it again, shall we?

Look Who Got My Letter!
Looks like winter responded! Yesterday was a mess of driving back into town from Waller, my brother's birthday party (which I could not attend), Scouts, and a Super Bowl party - so I did not get a picture of my outfit. I recreated it for you, because I love our faithful readers and this outfit is obviously a winner. It's my venture scouts uniform - can you tell the crew is largely run by teenage boys?
Like Lindy, today I took advantage of the chill and pulled on a sweater. It's my belief that winter gets the short end of the stick, because for a month or two (most of which actually takes place in the fall) people are SUPER EXCITED about winter and Christmas, and there are winter ads all over the place and you can't change the tv channel without seeing at least one snowman or snowflake. But then, after New Year's, that all disappears and people want to know when spring is coming. But now, in the (actual) middle of winter, I am proud to wear a sweater with snowflakes on it. Even if it has yet to drop below freezing in Houston.
You can pretend like I'm wearing it....when I took the pictures, I was too cold to change.

I Had This Super Cute Idea...
... then, I woke up this morning. I was in a crazy experimenting mood yesterday, scanning my closet coming up with obscure ideas and new combinations. Then, I woke up FREEZING cold. This is not the weather for a cute, light, flowy dress, now is it? I'll probably wear the outfit sometime later in the week, though. There is some good in this situation: I get to use a sweater!
