Rock It Like a Four Year Old

This entire outfit is kind of centered around my sunburn, but I actually really like it. Because my shoulders are sunburned, I wanted to wear something soft and cool that wouldn't irritate them - because believe me, they are very prone to irritation today. I probably shouldn't tell you this (shh!), but I'm wearing my shirt backwards. I wanted to pair it with this skirt, but it has a little empire detail in the front that made the outfit look awkward. When I turned it around, I fell in love with the neckline the backwards shirt created. I do kind of feel like a little kid who's wearing their shirt the wrong way, though - even if my tag's not sticking out.

Yellow Capris Into Yellow Shorts

I really hated my yellow capris. I didn't know what to do with them, and they were super awkward. One thing I did last summer, and one suggestion that Abbie brought up, is I could cut them and make them shorts. So I did! I like the shorts version more, so far. This is a VERY colorful outfit, and not typical Lindy AT ALL. But it is also Monday, and I don't have any real plans.

Also, You might notice I have different shoes on. These are my Prom shoes, and I need to break them in before I go in a few weeks. This will be the only time you see them before Prom.

Feel the Burn

We had a lot of fun on the campout, but as Lindy said, we're both terribly sunburned. While she's hoping to get tan, I just want the color to go away. I like my white skin! We spent a lot of time out on the lake yesterday, and the water was the perfect temperature. Actually, the entire park was gorgeous - we were in the Hill Country, so what's to be expected?

Swim, Sun, Sand, Stars

So, Abbie and I had an AMAZING time on our campout. The title, I thought of while laying in a tent at 6:45 am. Yesterday especially, we went swimming (swim test was the hardest), we both got LOTS of sun and sunburns, we came across some really soft sand while going hiking barefoot (ouch), and the stars, even though it was a little cloudy, were AMAZING up in the hill country. Overall, it was a pretty awesome trip, and I'm so glad I got to go. The outfits are very basic, because of the fact that we were camping... but one thing to notice is the skin coloring between the first and second picture... lets just say we got some sun!

I'm Going Camping and I'm Taking...

Last night, an outfit idea randomly popped into my head, and I decided to utilize it today. However, as I was getting dressed, the outfit completely transformed. Originally, I was going to wear a skirt and shirt with this scarf, but when I saw this shirt, I decided to see how the patterns worked together. Isn't it funny how that happens? Like Lindy, I'm trying to mix patterns more often, because (as you might have noticed) I love my patterns.

As you probably saw below, Lindy and I are going camping with my venturing crew this weekend, so we won't be updating the blog until Sunday. (And no, I'm not wearing this to the campout.)

Goin' Campin!

Howdy! Abbie and I leave for our camping trip today. I haven't been camping in years, so it's time to get back up and try it again! Today, Everything in my outfit is "new" or hasn't been seen on this blog yet. Its really just because I didn't wanna bring out some of this stuff too early, and some of it, like the scrunchy shirt you're about to see, I forgot was even in my closet. Don't you just love finding more clothes when you can't buy any? I do.

Also, Keep in mind, because we will be camping, neither Abbie or I will post until Sunday night or so. We will still document the outfits though!

Now I Long For Yesterday

I was tempted to put on my cloche, because Lindy and I are rocking the look-alike (at least in pictures) shirts, but in the end I decided not to cheat and just take a picture of what I actually wore today. It's super warm in our house (and outside), and I'm sweating even in this super summery outfit. What happened to my beautiful weather of yesterday?

Cue Yesterday by The Beatles getting stuck in my head.

(I feel like that post was so negative! It really is a pretty day, even if it's hot. And knowing Houston, it will cool down - ish - again before it gets hot until November. And I'm going camping this weekend! Yay! I love camping!)

Mixin' The Seasons (Again)

I've done a few of these type of outfits before; where I wear something that is summery but add something from a different season to give it a new, fresh look. This time, I put a woven cloche (very summery) with a scarf (not so summery), jeans and boots. I actually really like the idea behind this look, and I'll probably be using it quite often. Plus, I'm wearing my favorite color- blue. So it's definatly one of my favorite outfits of the month! Who knew a cloche hat and a scarf could go so well together?

Oh, Lovely Day

I felt like it was high time to pull my red shorts out again, and since spring makes me want to wear floral prints ALL THE TIME, I paired them with this little tank top. We're having super lovely weather today, which I can't help but adore. Lindy and I are going on a campout this weekend, so I'm hoping the weather sticks around!

Mix- Matching Prints. Success or Failure?

When I was younger, and I watched the Hannah Montana show (SO long ago...), I always took notice of Miley's friend, Lilly's, outfits. She always seemed to match stripes with plaid, print with stripes, etc in very interesting ways, and I could never figure out how she did it. Now that I'm older, and the age of Hannah Montana is pretty much over, I thought I'd experiment a little with some prints and colors to see if I could match. I had these plaid shorts I wanted to wear today, but I couldn't think of what interesting color or pattern of shirt I could pair it with. Then BAM. I found this tan-ish shirt I wore in february. I had no idea if this would work or not. So, you tell me. Is this outfit a success? or failure?

Add the Plaid

Once again, my mom went through her closet and picked out clothes to give away. I've always loved this dress, so when I saw it on the top of the pile, I quickly grabbed it. My hair's hiding the bodice, but it's a peasant top - add the plaid (that rhymed!) and it's a really sweet spring/summer dress. The length might make it a little too sweet (it's a size up, so it's a little long on me) but it doesn't bother me yet. A little hemming might be in order soon, but for now I'll keep it like it is. I'm really looking forward to wearing it in the warm (warm warm warm warm) months to come!

Identical Outfits

So, back in February, I wore an outfit extremly similar to this, except the shirt was with skinnies instead of a skirt. I LOVE this shirt, so It's really hard not to wear it. Even though the two outfits are similar, they are not the same. That is the whole point of this challenge, to not wear the same thing twice. So to make it different, I wore tights with a skirt, and added a different color fashion jewelry. I really like this outfit, it's great to wear to work, and I wish I could wear it again... but that won't happen until 2013!!

One More Down

I'm allergic to earrings of every metal, including silver and gold, so I don't wear them, which is unfortunate because those are a very common (and cute) gift. Consequently, I usually turn earrings I get into necklaces. I got this absolutely adorable pair for my birthday, but I haven't had time to do anything with them yet - they've just been sitting on my bathroom counter, where I see them every day and wish I could wear them! Today, I finally decided to pick one up and stick it on a chain. It worked, and now I have another pretty accessory to work into my outfits!

Oldies...

I've had both this shirt and this pair of capri's for what feels like FOREVER. I don't really like either of them so much anymore, but I needed a "knock out" day. The one thing I do really like is the color of the shirt. I LOVE wearing green. Since I have big green eyes, it makes them stand out. The color also just looks really nice with my extremly pale skin tone. As much as I don't love this outfit, it makes a good, comfortable "home" outfit to wear today.

Warm Up, But Only For Today

I was on a retreat this weekend with some of my girlfriends, and now that I'm back home I'm VERY tired. Yesterday, it was about about 65 degrees outside when this first picture was taken - which isn't very awesome beach weather! I always want it to be colder, but yesterday I was practically begging the sun to warm Surfside up faster. We'd go in the water, be warm for five or ten minutes, and then start shivering. The trip was still a lot of fun, though, and I wish it could have been longer!

Also, if any of you care, in the post Lindy did for me on Friday, my shirt belonged to my mom as a teenager (WHAT?), and everything else (minus the hat) is from Target. I love on that store way too much.

Earth Day Weekend Post

I've been feeling relativly uncreative this morning, so I made a very blunt post name. LOL! I was unable to post yesterday, because there was some trouble with blogger, and It wouldn't let me on. So, I'm doing two posts today. Yesterday, I was "Princess Lindy" of the Lift for the 19th street Spring Fling. It was the slowest festival that I've worked for, but it was still fun walking around like a princess all day. Today is Earth Day, and It feels really nice outside. I'm going prom shoe shopping with my friend, so I wanted a shirt that would allow me to get some SUN.

The Late But Great Post By Lindy

As our friend Mattie would say, Hey Chica's! Lindy here. Abbie is out on retreat, so I'm here to do BOTH of our posts. I know it's like super late at night, but i'm here, and I did NOT forget today's post. Abb and I went to Hermann Park (once again) for a little photoshoot for my school. I have to best describe in the most creative way why FLVS means so much to me, by going to places, and describing why the school benefits me. So, I decided to do a little dancy photoshoot, with the help of my beautiful, dear friend. I apoligize, because Abbie messaged me where her pieces were from... but I accidently deleted the message:/

Blank Canvas

I'm going to spend the weekend with my grandparents + on a retreat, so it seemed smart to wear a bunch of neutrals that I could throw on in case I forgot anything. I'm also going back to my favorite blank canvas of jeans and a light shirt. The whole outfit was inspired by my headband, which is the belt of a shirt I almost wore today. The floral print was so pretty, I wanted to center the entire outfit around it! Do you think I did a good job? I certainly do.

Red Lips and Purple Lace

I was definatly feeling a little "over the moon" this morning, and decided to "spice" things up a bit. I haven't had red lips in a few months or so, so I thought I'd bring it out with this purple lace shirt. I really love this shirt, and wish I could wear it more often. It seems like a deep red and a dark purple are like the "sexy" colors, so to speak, so I was feelin' a little extra feisty and sexy today. I hope you like this outfit as much as I do!

One Step Remodeling

My mom gave me this shirt a few months ago. I liked the pattern, but the shirt was long sleeved and WAY too big on me, so it kind of turned into one of those "I'll wear it someday" shirts. The summer trend of sleeveless button ups recently caught my fancy, but I couldn't do anything about it - that seems to happen when you can't buy clothes! Then, yesterday, I was in my closet and I saw this shirt. I thought, "Why don't I just cut the sleeves off?" I looked up a tutorial online, and five minutes later I had a brand new shirt (that I actually wore to a lax game last night...don't tell!). It was honestly the easiest DIY I've ever done - all you have to do is cut just outside the seamline where the sleeve meets the shirt. Because of the way button ups are done, the hem is already there, so there's no sewing involved!

I Like My Muted Colors

When I put together this outfit, I started very basic. I had the colorful magenta and orange shirt, and these jeans. When I put it on, I thought to myself, this is a very colorful outfit. I'm not so much a color person, very unlike Abbie, so I wanted to find something muted to go with it. I grabbed this cardigan, thinking it would look awful with this shirt, but it didn't, and I really liked it! If it wasn't for the whole "no repeating outfits" ordeal, I would definatly wear this outfit again.

The Annoying Orange

I love finding obnoxiously awesome color schemes in my closet, because they're so unexpected and usually turn out prettily. Today, for example: orange and magenta. Two colors I like in (very moderate!) moderation, but don't wear that often. When I put them together? It's a delicious combination.

Also, I promise I'm wearing shorts. This shirt is really long and covers up the shorts' hem!

Hi Ho! Hi Ho! It's Off To Work I Go!

I'm in a Snow White mood this morning, or rather, I've got the dwarf song stuck in my head. Today is my first day back to work since the Miller season is over, and, like Abbie, other than work, I don't know what do to with myself! I can actually come home after work today! I couldn't believe it. You saw a very similar outfit not too long ago. I stole a bunch of my dad's old work shirts that he can't fit into anymore, and I'm using them for more outfit choices this year. I really like this color, because it's my favorite; blue! You'll be seeing quite a few similar outfits with other colors of shirts very soon!

Back to Real Life

Now that Miller's over, I'm a) really, really, really tired (hence the awesome picture) and b) able to go about my life like a normal human being again. I don't have to fit myself to as strict of a schedule, and I'm enjoying this thing called free time in the evenings. After months of four rehearsals a week, it's such a novel concept - I'm so used to leaving for rehearsal or a show at 4:30 that now I hardly know what to do with myself!

Lazy Monday

The first weekday after our Miller season is always a relaxed day. I wanted to keep it very simple. I decided to, finally, bring out my only pair of cargo pants to see what they would do to this shirt. Of course, it's my Bambi tee that I love. It makes me wish I could go back and play Bambi again. Oh well. So here is today's relaxed outfit.

Also, there is a little bracelet on my wrist.... we got them in Galveston yesterday.

Fun Time Togetherness

Like Lindy said, today we went to the beach with two of our friends as a post-Ragtime celebration/general fun time togetherness party (That's a thing.). You can't tell in this picture, but the wind was blowing my hat all around. It was actually blowing me around, too - it was so bad! Just take a look at the water.

I've owned this dress since I was probably ten years old. It's an Old Navy sundress, and since I was a chunk as a child it happens to be in a size that still fits me. I use it as a swimsuit coverup now - evidenced here - and I'm sure you'll see it many, many times this summer.

Beach Day!

The last show was a blast, and I'm so glad to be able to rest now. Today, Abbie, two of our friends (Maddy and Mattie) and I went to the beach, and hung out at Galveston most of the day. It was CRAZY windy. Like.... I didn't know it could be so windy. We still had a really great day though, and It was nice to get together with the girls before we don't see each other every day. I finally took this opprotunity to bring out my favorite thing I own... my romper. I only have one but I LOVE it.

Matchy Matchy

Woah woah woah, are Lindy and I wearing the same dress??

Why yes, we are! We're like those adorably weird and/or freaky twinsies who always dress the same, except this is for one night only and our dresses are different colors. This is by far the most summery outfit I've worn yet, because I was feeling lazy today and didn't want to put on a cardigan because it's hot outside. Today is our last Miller show (That's hard to believe!), so I was feeling very lazy all day. I've hardly gotten off my computer. Bad, but productive for catching up on TV shows.

Closing Night. Always a bittersweet night. Tonight, we have two parties. We have the Tent party, which is before the show, and after we have the wrap party, which is like a cast party only for the cast. The Group of Two

My mom got me these shorts for Easter, and I am so psyched to have them! Aren't they just adorable? High-waisted shorts are my newest obsession, and now I have another pair to add to my (very small and well-loved) collection. Sorry my shirt washed out - this was the most saturated picture by a wide margin.

Hello! Welcome to the last Friday show of Ragtime! Tonight's ensemble of clothes include a cute pink dress, and my immigrant combat boots. I'm very ready for tonight's show, because yesterday wasn't our best. I've got my mom coming with her friend tonight as well. The pink dress I have worn something similar with, but I promise it isn't the same thing. As opposed to pink tights and brown accents, I'm only wearing black accents (leggings and cami) and a touch of color in the back with a flower (That you can't see... sorry.)

100 Percent of My Love

Happy 100th day! It's so weird to think that we've already worn 100 outfits. Like Lindy, I still have shirts and dresses I haven't worn yet. Mainly because I have way too many clothes and I like all of them. As Lindy said, go take a peek at all of our 100 outfits and tell us which one's your favorite! Or you can just choose an outfit at random and say it's your favorite. We'll never know the difference ;)

Happy 100th Day of 2012! Can you believe Abbie and I have already gone through 100 different outfits? It's even weirder knowing that I still have stuff in my closet I haven't worn. CRAZY. Well, Today is also our first day of the second weekend of shows, so I had to wear a dress. The first time I wore this, I didn't wear it as a dress, but It can become one if you make it so. It's incredibly flashy, and celebratory, which suits today's festivities!

Now that we've been through 100 outfits, Let us know which is your favorite! You've got lots to pick from!

Dorothy

With today's original outfit, I was only wearing the dress, but thanks to a recently discovered fashion blog, I decided to put this shirt on under it. I wasn't expecting to like the combination, but I did. I'm not in love with the look, and I have little nitpicky things that I don't like about it, but in general I would wear it again. It's also a really nice way to mix the dress up! Until today, I had about three ways of wearing it, which is a problem when it's one of your favorite throw-on dresses and you can only wear an outfit once!

Fashion Forward; Work Appropriate.

I've got work in an hour and a half, and was searching for a specific piece in my wardrobe today. This is the first day i've worn this, and I think it deserves to be worn. I got this pink plaid blazer (who knew there could be so much busyness in one piece of clothing) a few years ago, and I LOVED it when I went through my plaid phase. Since I'm not AS plaid obsessed anymore, it hasn't seen much daylight. It's a very busy piece to wear, but it also looks kinda professional or whatnot; something spiffy to wear to work. So, here it is! Making its first appearence.

A Pleasant Surprise

I saved this shirt from the giveaway pile yesterday, and couldn't wait to wear it. It had been hanging in my closet for years without me wearing it, so I took it out about six months ago. I've been seeing a lot of black shirts with white polka dots recently, and every time I see one, I think, "I have a shirt like that!" So I finally pulled it out, and I'm so glad I did. Isn't it adorable? I can't wait to style it this summer. I'm considering cutting the sleeves off - what do you think?

Entering True Summer Clothes!

It's April here in Houston, which means it's virtually the beginning of our "Summer". Summer here lasts nearly all year long, and since it's reaching around the mid to high 80's, I thought I'd finally start pulling out a summer look. I'm so glad I got this shirt at Christmas, because its nice, flowy and incredibly comfy with lots of air for a warm day outside. I just got this hat as a gift from my Grandma for Easter and I couldn't wait to use it! I know.... another cloche hat. It's Lindy heaven! I really like the look of this outfit; comfy, casual, but still has that touch of my personality that I love.

Sleepy Head

Today, I basically sat around in bed and read. The only reason I got this done up is because we're going to my grandparent's for dinner. I haven't brushed my hair or anything - I'm obviously still not feeling great! We get a three day break between shows, which is greatly appreciated by me. I took a long nap yesterday and slept in this morning - and I'm just about ready to go to bed again. If staying up until midnight every night for a week hadn't completely messed up my sleep pattern, I'd definitely be going to sleep in two or three hours.

Dream School!

Right around this time, a lot of kids my age have a school that is like... "the school". Mine happens to be Elon University. I had a friend of ours go to North Carolina over Spring Break to look at schools, and happened to pass by Elon, knowing it was my favorite. She and her mom, who is my boss, bought me this shirt. Since today is a day of only school, and resting a lot, I thought I'd bring out a more casual look. I hope I get accepted there!!

Happy Easter, Again!

Today, I woke up at the hilariously early but late hour of 8:45 and went to church for Easter Sunday. I was falling asleep all through the service (I know, I'm bad), and when we went to my grandparent's for dinner, I took a mini nap on the couch. I came home at 4:00 and fell asleep until 7:30, which was quite a nice way to spend my afternoon!

I've owned this dress for a few years; it's from the Rodarte for Target collection. I got it for Easter freshman year, and this is pretty much a repeat of that outfit - only the shoes are different. I really love the dress, but it's pretty fancy, so I hardly ever get to wear it anywhere. Needless to say, I was excited about wearing it today!

He is Risen! :). Happy Easter to the blog readers! Every year for Easter, my sister and I go shopping for Easter dresses, and this year was no exception. Because I got to pick it out, but not pay for it, I wanted something I could wear multiple times, for multiple occasions. Either dress it up, or wear it down. I found this dress at JCPenny. I absolutly love it! The one shoulder is a "new look" for me, and it has my favorite color to wear in it; green. Also, notice the cool brown bracelet on my wrist.... that was a gift from my boss yesterday at work. We got some new stuff in, and I modeled it. When I went to take it off, she let me keep it! Isn't it SO cute?? :)

Still Can't Talk

It's not so much that I can't talk as my throat is really sore, and if I talk too much the stuff in my lungs decides to choke my voice. So I'm on vocal rest as much as possible again. This is just a little spring outfit that was easy to throw together, to go along with Miller/sickness craziness. It's been awhile since I've used this scarf, hasn't it? I had this basic outfit planned out with another scarf, but I put it on and decided it was WAY too wintry, so I pulled out the good old Liberty print and, surprise, it worked.

Dress Parade: Day 6

This is supposed to be the last day this week that I wear a dress, because it's our last show for the week, but I'm pretty sure tomorrow is also Easter, and I already have a super cute dress picked out. I'm so excited for this dress! I saved it for last because I absolutly love it! When I wore it before, I made it more of a winter dress, but now, It's time to bring it out for it's true purpose.... warm weather. I never wore this cardigan with it too, and I really like the combination! Too bad I can only wear it once....

My Outfit for Today: April 7, 2012.

Cardigan: Buffalo Exchange
Dress: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Payless
Flower: JCPenny
Belt: Langford Market

I'm still wearing my leo and tights for the show, but I don't count that.

Dress Parade: Day 5.

It's already been 5 straight days at Miller. Thats pretty crazy! Well, happy Good Friday to all of you! I know that statement is somewhat ironic, but it's also a showday. I've still got a lingering cough, but I'm definatly feeling better, unlike poor Abbie. She has like... a 103 fever, unfortunalty. Now, onto the outfit. This is a very 1920's inspired look. If the dress was longer and more straight, as opposed to a-line, it would be even more inspired, but in reality it still has the same look. I love this dress, because of the cool and unique pieces it has. I know it's a little warm to be wearing all black, but most people will see me in it tonight, when I come out the stage door. Also, it's Good Friday, and since I can't attend a church service, I thought I'd show some respect to my religion by wearing mostly black.

My Outfit for Today: April 6, 2012.

Dress: Kohls
Cardigan: Papaya
Hat: Gift (JCPenny)
Shoes: Gift
Sunglasses: Forever 21
Sling: Walmart

So I'm Sick

So yeah...I got really sick on Wednesday and haven't felt like doing much of anything since, which is great, because opening night was last night. My fever spiked to 103 yesterday morning, and I spent all day in bed. I never got around to taking a picture, so you get one of those awesome, clothes-laid-out-on-the-floor pictures. Almost everything feels better today, but my throat is on fire. I'm talking as little as possible, but it hasn't helped so far. Hopefully it won't hurt so much tonight, but as I told one of my friends last night, the show must go on!
