This month has flown by! I've been so busy with school, and Ragtime, and life in general that it's hard to believe January is almost over.
About a week ago, I was on a fashion website and saw that Target had put all of its Missoni items on clearance. In September/October, my family scoured Target's stores and website for any Missoni item we could get our hands on, but the only thing I ended up keeping was this black sweater with a flower on it. I was a little bummed, because I really wanted those darling flats with the Missoni stripes. Needless to say, the second I saw Missoni was on clearance, I called my mom over and we drooled over the computer screen. It was her birthday, so she got four items, including the flats. She got them (in a size up, unfortunately) for about $13 - and luckily, we wear the same size, so I can borrow them all I want. They arrived two days ago, and this is my first time wearing them. Aren't they amazing?

1 down, 11 to go!
Here we are... the last day of the month! It has gone by so very quickly, much quicker than I thought. Its been such a fun month. A very high maintenence month, considering I have to check my closet to see what I have and haven't worn quite often, but really, such fun! Like the title says, one month down... one to go! 31 outfits down, 335 to go!
Also, you may notice some different shoes. These are my Ragtime boots, that I use when i'm playing an immigrant. I actually like them a lot- which is interesting. I also got my New Rochelle boots in as well. They look like spats! I'm sure they'll come up at some point this year!

Schoolgirl at Heart
Somewhere deep inside me, there is a schoolgirl who really likes pleated skirts and cardigans. She is the girl who always thought it would be cool to have a school uniform but lamentably never got one. Some days, she comes out and is uniquely represented in my outfit. This is one of those days.

Under The Sea!
The color scheme i'm wearing, pink, turquoise, and my red hair, made me feel like Ariel this morning. I remember being a kid and The Little Mermaid being one of my favorite movies. Since, I have sang her signature song, Part Of Your World, for many occasions including talent shows and benefits. No particular reason why I love that song so much, but it is really beautiful and I still wish I could be Ariel when I grow up. Who knows? If I worked in Disney World I could...

So Many Birthdays...
Today, my family's attending a birthday party in the afternoon (we're actually supposed to be there now...) and throwing one this evening, so I'm feeling rather frazzled and hurried. This was just an easy, comfortable outfit I decided on after about 30 minutes of staring at my closet. (It's amazing how not knowing where your black cardigan is can make your whole closet seem unnacceptable...when you're running late.) Also, happy birthday to my brother, Liam!

"Your Shirt Is Almost As Red As Your Hair!"
I came downstairs this morning wearing a red shirt, thinking I was being clever. I own maybe... 2 red blouses total. Since I dyed my hair red again two days ago, the only thing my dad could say was "Your shirt is almost as red as your hair!" I didn't know whether or not to take it as a compliment, but either way, here is my outfit! Very old fashioned. Also, this is like the 3rd time i've worn my cloche hat. Can you tell its one of my favorites?

Because I'm a Girl, and I Need Options
This morning, Lindy and I were going to be all cute and do our blog post together...but then she did my makeup and I felt like my Tempos + t-shirt combo was too boring/one clothing option is too few for me. I changed into this Audrey Hepburn tee because I'm rockin' cat eye liner and it made me feel ~*~vintage~*~ and ~*~sophisticated~*~. As we were taking pictures, my adorable dog Franco jumped up on the couch and snuggled up next to me. He's more of a lapdog than our pug! Sorry that the picture is wacky...I liked it! :)

The Red Hot Sleepover!
So Abbie and I had a wonderful sleepover last night. We went and ate with my fam at Willies, went to my brothers basketball game (and danced in the hallway), and then came home. When home, we went and got MENCHIES (which if you've never been there.... you better go. Right now. Go.) and then to HEB to get hair dye. We redyed my hair last night. Whoooooo was that an experience! The color isn't very different from the one I left, except its a little bit brighter and darker. It's still red, just a more defined red. Yes, i'll post the "before", "during", and "after" pictures, along with my outfit for today

Repeat Offender
I know that this is the third time I've worn one of my Liberty scarves...but I just can't resist them! I throw one of these on and an outfit's complete. Coincidentally, the three outfits I've worn with the scarves (this and this) are some of my favorites so far.

It's A Purple "Pink" Thing
So for some reason every time I wear this shirt I get made fun of for a pretty cute reason. The v-neck I'm wearing today is from Pink- by Victoria's Secret, but the color is purple. Ironic? I think yes. Its sort of cool out, so I had to wear a jacket over the little dog, indicating the shirt is from Pink, but I love the silly questions! It always makes me smile. :)

Everybody Loves Zebras
About a month after I got these shoes, I looked around and saw that LOTS of people had the exact same pair - several of my friends, people I saw on the street, our costume designer...But I didn't mind, because they're cute shoes and it was kind of funny running into someone who was wearing the same shoes as you. I guess that's what I get for buying cute, inexpensive shoes from Target, right?

Blue, White and Blue.
My favorite color is blue. Everyone knows it. On the 3rd day of this month, I wore an "all blue" outfit, and I said more would come. Well here we are again, with another "all blue" outfit. I'm trying to use my long sleeves while I can, because most of my clothes are for fall and spring. Its in the 50's currently, and although its relativly shady, I love the temperature. Without the humidity, it would be much nicer though...

Quilting!
So, I'm a little late today. Mainly cause blogger was being a little weird earlier, but I also had a very busy morning. After an 8am Latin discussion, I headed to the church with my grandma to go be part of a service group which makes quilts for people in need. It was actually very fun; I know i'll use some of those skills in my life. It actually inspired me to make my own quilt! My outfit, I pulled together in seconds before my call this morning, so it isn't very creative. This shirt, its one of my favorites. Not because it's cute in any way, but merely because its very soft and comfy.

Pink vs. Flamingo
I borrowed this scarf from my mom this morning, and when I walked out of her closet, I said, "It's so pink..." We then had a several-minute-long conversation on whether the scarf was pink (my claim) or flamingo, a tint of red-orange (her claim). I fail to see how this scarf could be considered anything BUT a shade of pink. Sure, it could be pink with orange in it...but if you only had one word with which to describe it, I think the answer would be pink. And now I have written the word pink so many times I've realized what a weird word it is...and my brain hurts. On to the outfit!

She Wears Short Shorts
It kind of looks like Lindy and I had the same idea when we got dressed this morning! If only I was wearing purple...
This shirt/tunic/dress/thing is one of those Urban Outfitters items that's supposed to be a dress but ends up being way too short for anyone over 5'2. When I picked it up, I actually thought it was a shirt. But it was $10, so you know how that goes.

So, I Have A Confession....
Okay, so for the musical Abbie and I are in, Ragtime, I had to buy something yesterday. Its required, so its allowed by our rules, but I wanted to make sure that it was documented, and when you see a pair of lace up boots or spat heels from either Abbie or I, you know where they came from. I actually really like the spats, because I know i'd wear them again. As for the lace up boots, everyone who has been reading this should know, I love my boots. Anyway, on to my outfit. This is one of my favorite tanks, and my favorite (and only) button up cardigan. I think today will probably, in the long run, be one of my favorites. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Rhythm of Love
This is a slightly more wintery version of what I wore to a Plain White T's concert last Valentine's Day, so ever since I put it on I've been feeling like I have somewhere super exciting to go...which is sad, because I don't. Regardless, I really like this dress. The girls in my youth group have a clothing exchange every few months (If you don't know what that is, it's basically: We all bring clothes we don't want anymore and take turns choosing other clothes that we do want. It's like shopping for free!) and I always end up taking a lot of my friend Claire's clothes. This is one of those dresses - I think she told me she brought it because she knew I would like it. And like it, I do!

Don't Judge My Yellow Pants!
So I knew I would probably change out of this outfit before my "late night" rehearsal tonight, so I kinda threw this one on. I was doing a search through my closet yesterday, only to find I had several other shirts, one more skirt (so now I own two... quite an accomplishment), and these bright yellow pants. I remember these from a revue I was in around 3-4 years ago, and I thought i'd never wear them again. Until now, of course. I also came across this top that was given to me as a Valentine's Day gift from my grandma. Its navy and bright yellow... and this is pretty much the only shirt I can wear with these yellow pants. Yellow is Abbie's favorite color, so I might have to give these to her. I do not like them, at all.

Circle, Circle, Dot, Dot
So, I have a confession to make. I have an obsession with polka dots. I'm absolutely enamored. It is a long-standing love that, despite the many protestations of fashion experts, so called, there is no cure for. It's not even a conscious thing - I just choose stuff with polka dots all the time! I'm pretty sure my mother has called me, "My polka dot girl," several times before. I know that this dress is technically a "geometric pattern", but it's close enough to dots - right? It's a simple little shift dress. I don't like wearing it without a sweater/jacket of some kind because it has a lot of volume in the sleeves and my shoulders do not need any extra volume. I like it a lot, though, even if I don't wear it that much.

Singin' A Country Song.
This morning before I was willing to get up, along with reading The Hunger Games, I was listening to... of all things... country music. I don't listen to a lot of country, but I guess thats just what happened to be playing on my shuffle! For some reason, when I looked at my outfit, It felt sort of rustic. Maybe it was ironic, or maybe thats just what I felt like wearing. Country Chic.

Up, Up, and Away
Sorry for the late post! Today was one of those days where I was lazy in the morning and busy until 7:00 PM, so I just got home to take the picture. We obviously couldn't do it outside, and seeing as our entire house is a wreck my mom told me to pose on the ladder. Oh yeah, I'm cool.
This is one of my favorite shirts at the moment. It's very different from most shirts I own, but I absolutely love it! It's oversized and soft and comfortable - I'm kind of surprised I haven't worn it yet. I was in rehearsal for five hours today, so all I really wanted to do was wear a lazy, easy outfit.

I'm Feelin' Pretty Good!
This morning, when I woke up but was not ready to get out of bed, I grabbed my iPod and just started listening to some music. Some of my favorite songs, like Blackbird by the Beatles, Firework by Katy Perry, and my "jam", Lady Gaga's Born This Way, came on and lifted me into this absolutly wonderful mood. I walked out of bed feeling on top of the world! Just a positive ball of energy! I have had some of this stuff sitting in my closet, just waiting to be tried. Today i'm wearing a skirt. I KNOW. I'M REBELLIOUS. This is the only skirt I own, but when I tried it with this top from a friend, I felt even more on top of the world! My smile and my outfit reflects my awesome mood.

Printed Scarfs Can Go A Long Way!
I wore this scarf not too long ago, but I really do love it. I had this outfit set out, and the shirt is one of my favorites, but when I put it on, It felt like there was something missing. It felt very bare. I tried my black scarf, but I felt like there was more potential; like I could do something more. Then, out of the blew, I found this scarf hanging on the back of my scarf rack in my closet. I put it on and BAM. The outfit was complete. I'm just hoping I don't use this scarf too often! This is also one of my favorite shirts, because it is so comfortable.

For the Love of Literature!
When my mom gets on Facebook and I'm in the same room, she usually ends up looking at her feed for a long time, reading some of the more amusng/interesting posts out loud. This happened yesterday evening, and one of my favorite (and most common) statuses was "Thanks for going down, Wikipedia. Now how am I supposed to do my homework?"
Oh, goodness, people. It's called books!
Anyway, I had a moderately more productive day yesterday for not getting online, even if the temptation was great. Here's my outfit for yesterday:

Middle School Clothes vs. High School Clothes
When I was in Middle School, around 3 years ago, I LOVED those super expensive name brand clothes, such as Abercrombie and Fitch, along with Hollister and Aeropostale. Well, since yesterday morning it was pretty chilly, I needed a long sleeve shirt, or something close to that. I remember picking this shirt and cami out when I went shopping for my 14th birthday.... which was some time ago, and my style has changed A LOT since then. Regardless, thats what my outfit was. Just some old Middle School clothes. Since Middle School was "so long ago", I photo-edited the picture to make it black and white. The clothes themselves are all blue, and the flower and boots are black.

Now, Today's outfit is more of a tribute to more recent times. The oldest piece in this outfit is actually my shirt, which is a Kohls sweater that felt appropriate with the weather today. Its really not that old, because I got it my freshman year. Other than that, it's all pretty much "newer" stuff. One reason I love this outfit is how I planned to add light pink accents to the dark pink and brown. Along with brown and blue, brown and faded shades of pink (not bright or neon pink) together to complete an outfit. I have a lot of faded pink pieces in my closet, even though, like Abbie, I am not a huge fan of the color. Also, excuse the bluriness of the picture today!

An Announcement
Hello readers! Tomorrow, Lindy and I will be joining the internet (as much as schooly possible) in protest against SOPA and PIPA. We will not be updating this blog. Instead, we'll both do double posts on Thursday. See you then, and thanks for understanding! - Abbie
Crash Landing in Lima
For some reason, this morning I stepped outside and immediately thought the weather felt like Lima, Peru - except fifteen degrees warmer. For the day we were there, Lima had something like 97% humidity. It did that weird thing where it's not really raining but water's still falling from the sky, and you always felt wet - but I loved it.
Like scarves, hats aren't something I wear that much. I carried around a sunhat in Peru and it proved INCREDIBLY useful, even if carting it around was a bit of a pain (The brim is now deformed from being stuffed in my backpack so many times). But I put this outfit on today and caught sight of this little hat hanging on my wall. Shablam, outfit complete.

Colors? Working On It...
This is a VERY colorful outfit. Probably one of the most colorful outfits you're bound to see from me all year. I don't own a lot of super bright colors, unlike Abbie, because I enjoy wearing and mixing blacks, browns, and darker colors to create a look that compliments my "all too white" skin tone. Even though I do not own a lot of bright colors, this outfit is very cute and I still like it a lot. My shoes I have not worn since 8th grade. Its funny how you find your old clothes and shoes when you're on a challenge like this and you say to yourself, "I could use this!" Maybe when the year is out, I will realize I don't have enough color outfits, and I'll go buy some more color pieces. Can't do that this year though...

Swinter
What Phineas and Ferb don't tell you is that Swinter can go the other way around...
I really love this outfit; it's the most "Abbie" thing I've worn so far! These tights are kind of awesome, and without fail I get complimented every time I wear them. I had a lot of trouble matching shoes to this outfit, but I finally settled on my good old Keds. Of course, when Lindy and I went window shopping this afternoon I found shoes that would have matched the outfit perfectly...and that I had been coveting for quite some time. If you shop at Modcloth and recently sold all of your clothes to Buffalo Exchange, you need to skip the middle man and just start giving me all of your stuff.
(If you were wondering, the skirt and shirt pretty much look the same in the front as they do in the back. The tights, however, do not.)

Emerson Day!
So, it's kind of an important morning over here. I am fortunate enough to be able to perform for Emerson College this morning. This is my first performance for a university, so I'm a little bit nervous, I will admit, but i'm also very excited! I assumed it was pretty dressy casual, so I searched through my closet to find any dress/ nice top I could find but haven't worn this year. I've only worn this dress only once in it being mine, as it was also a "hand me down" from my friend, but it's incredibly flattering and I love the pattern. Also, the fact that it is black and white allows me to bring out a color accent with my red hair, and dark purple eyeshadow. So my important morning is as important as what i'm wearing, because it determines my stage presence. With this dress, I feel totally confident and ready to show Emerson what i've got!
My outfit for today: January 16th, 2012
Dress: black and white 3/4 sleeve dress was a hand me down
Leggings: Black leggings from Charlotte Russe.

I Can't Think of Any Appropriate Names for This Post
I had my lovely post all written out this afternoon...and then my internet disconnected. It hasn't come back yet, so I'm over at my grandparent's to do the post (To top things off, I forgot the camera/memory card, so I have to go back home to get the picture). So yes. That's my excuse for you.
This morning, it was so cold I really didn't want to get out of bed. It didn't help that I slept in until 8:30, but I ended up being the first one ready for church anyway. It was so chilly I opted to go the comfort route. This sweater is one of the few clothing items I own that I don't know where it came from. I got it for Christmas a few years ago...and yeah. But I really like it - I don't own many things in this color family (back to the pink thing...I don't have much red, either), but it's a perfect color for fall and winter without being black or gray.

No, I Did Not Forget!
Hello bloggers! Lindy here. I know I didn't post yesterday. For all of you who texted me past 9pm, I was asleep. I took a 9am jazz class, headed over to the Japanese Gardens to take pics with a friend (which is where my pics will come from) and then went to a 5 hour rehearsal. On top of that, I am still a tad sick. I promise you, I did not forget, I'm just going to document yesterday's outfit along with todays!
Yesterday, as I said, I had a 9am Jazz class, and soon after, I had rehearsal. I had no intention of looking "pretty" in any way, shape or form, so my outfit yesterday is just a bunch of baggy and form fitting dance clothes.
My Outfit for Yesterday: January 14, 2012
Top: Old Gym T-Shirt from GMS.
Bottoms: Old Gym shorts from GMS
Everything Else: Black tights from Body Wrappers, and black Leo from Capezio.
Shoes: Navy Keds from Payless.
Sunglasses: Pink sunglasses from Forever 21
Now today's outfit is practically a tribute to one of my good friends who is off at college. Over the summer, I went to her house and she gave me a TON of her old clothes that didn't fit. I believe everything (except the shoes and the bracelet) is either her's or something I bought with her.
My Oufit for Today: January 15th, 2012
Top: White Sweater was a hand me down (Old Navy) and White regular cami was a hand me down.
Bottoms: Ripped long dark jean shorts from Palais Royal
Shoes: Brown flats from Payless
Accessories: Bracelet from Costa Rica.

Apologies For the Glaring Whiteness of My Skin
The sun was really bright and I am really white, so my face is like snow on a sunny day. In other, much more awesome news, I got my first copy of John Green's The Fault in Our Stars! It is signed and gorgeous and I cannot wait to read it, so it got a special guest appearance in today's post. I actually have two more copies coming (the audio box set where John's reading the book and the copy I had to get to see Hank and him on their Tour de Nerdfighting), but none of them arrived...until today.
Anyway, onto the outfit. I was messing around with shorts and skirts to wear, and I slipped this skirt on. It's too big (I got it at a clothing swap, and I have a bad habit of getting things to alter or sell at those), but when I pulled it up to match the shirt's empire waist I found that they actually made quite a pretty dress - so I think I'll have to bust the sewing machine out later. I know you can't see the dress (or my tights) well, and I apologize - the light was weird today.

Friday the 13th!
No, I didn't pre-plan wearing almost all black on Friday the 13th. Truth be told, I've been planning this outfit for a few days and this just happened to be the day these jeans came out of the wash. This shirt was probably one of my better impulse buys - I went to Urban Outfitters looking for a dress and instead went away with my favorite pair of shorts and this shirt, which I wore on my trip to Peru this summer. I got both things on sale for about $13 total, and they've both turned out to be very smart buys...which is interesting, since when I usually make an impulse buy, I end up disliking the item later.

Sisters Are A Girl's Best Friend.
My sister Zoe and I are extremly close. She is around 10 years younger than me, but that does not stop either of us at all. She always insists she has to be just like me, which I adore and cherish, and we're always the ones cuddling on the couch watching "her channel" together. I get her up for school every morning, and sometimes I pick her up. Every morning when I come down and show her my outfit, she always gives me her full and honest opinion. This morning, she loved this one! She comes to every one of my shows, and I go to her school programs and parties. We are completly inseperable. I love her more than words can say. For about a week now I've been teaching her how to take pictures for me, so she has been the one behind the camera (standing on a chair so she is as tall as me) and I just want to recognize her and send her a shout out. I LOVE YOU ZOE! I'm going to post two pictures today, one of my outfit and one of us yesterday with our matching animal hats!
I love my outfit today BTW. This is one of my newer and favorite shirts I got for Christmas and I thought i'd try something besides jeans with it. :)

Small Steps
On Thursdays, I volunteer at a preschool for underpriveledged kids. I spend half an hour each playing with my two "buddies", one of whom is a five-year-old boy. In the half-hour I'm with him, we're just as likely to sit molding playdough as we are to run and crawl around on the ground chasing cars. Because of this, I can't wear skirt, dresses, tights, anything fussy...My choices get kind of narrowed down! So apologies in advance if my Thursday outfits aren't terribly exciting - I'd hate to snag my favorite pair of tights on a plastic toy!

The Hedwig Hat!
So, for christmas, my grandma got both me and my sister these "animal face" hats that I ADORE. I was so excited when I got the owl because I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and I can now zoom around the house with a letter in my "beak" pretending to be sending Ron Weasley the howler from the second Harry book/movie. I know Hedwig is a snowy white owl, but I call this my "Hedwig Hat" because the first time I wore it, over at my uncle's, he told me I looked like Hedwig. I love this hat, especially today, because it's super windy and keeps my ears warm.
Also, like Abbie, I went through a "mad for plaid" stage. This shirt is one of the few pieces I can still wear.

Top: Off white long sleeve from Aeropostale and maroon plaid spagetti strap from JCPenny

Sweater Weather
As a general rule, I do not enjoy wearing the color pink. Not surprisingly, this tank top is one of the few pink things I own. I've found that, because barely any of my clothes are pink, it's an excellent contrasting color for me to work into my outfits. If you haven't noticed (and I think you soon will) I like mixing colors. A LOT. So having small pink accesories works for me - even if I haven't been converted to loving the color.

Brown and Blue- Day 2
So, as stated in a previous post around a week ago, my favorite color combination is brown and blue. It is not a stranger in my closet at all, to have quite a lot of brown tops, even more blue tops, and even some brown and blue together tops. My brown oxford heels are also my favorite pair of shoes! There are so many possibilities with the two colors alone, as well as seperated, that my "inner fashionista" just can't resist!
My outfit for Today: January 11th, 2012.
Top: Blue long sweater top from Shasa and Brown cami from Hollister.
Bottoms: Dark skinnies from JCPenny
Shoes: Brown heels from Payless
Accessories: Brown bracelet from Costa Rica (a souvineer from my dads trip two years ago)

On an unrelated note- I'm going to send a "shout out" to my friend Hattie, and her math class that reads this blog every day. Hello! Keep reading!

The Bipolar State Has Done It Again
As per usual, my state's crazy weather has decided it wants to drop twenty degrees in a night. Now it's cold and crisp outside, so I decided to bust out my favorite turtleneck. Well, it's actually my only turtleneck, but if I had more than one it would probably still be my favorite. I know that horizontal stripes are supposed to widen you out, but with this shirt it always seems to be the exact opposite. It also makes my hair look redder than it actually is - so, all in all, it's a pretty good shirt! This is also my favorite coat. When I was twelve and thirteen, I went through a mad for plaid phase, and this is one of the few pieces of that phase that I still own - it might actually be the only one.

Well.... Quite the Weather Change.
So we ended yesterday on a "hot and muggy" note with the very rainy weather. I woke up this morning FREEZING. I love cold weather, don't get me wrong, I just didn't expect it this time. I am always dressed for winter, so my outfit choice was not hard to find this morning, which was a plus. We also made it to the "double digits" of this month! This only makes me want to continue!

But I Ain't Complaining, 'Cause I Love the Rain
It's raining buckets outside right now - which is great for me, because I love this kind of weather! Taking pictures was a bit of a problem because our house has so many windows, so whether we took them inside or out it was blurry. But, the show must go on, so here's the best one we got!
I love dresses with a fiery passion. I could wear them all day, every day and be perfectly happy. This little black and white number is one of my favorites! You'll probably be seeing it quite a bit.

Who Loves Bows? I Do!
So, i'm not sure if this is the first time i've worn a bow in this process so far, but if I haven't, i'm actually quite suprised. I LOVE bows. I love the look, I love wearing them, I love the thought of bows... it just makes everything look prettier! Some people like headbands, some people (like abbie) enjoy wearing vintage. I enjoy wearing bows.
