Today is a very "stay at home doing chores" sort of day. On top of that, it's drizzly and gray and I'm not feeling terribly excited or inspired! So I threw this dress on, and threw this headband on, and that was that.

I Do, I Do, I Do.
Today is Zach and Kristina's wedding day!! I'm so excited for the two of them, and I can't wait to witness their love today.
My Outfit, intrestingly enough, is somewhat similar, or uses the same pieces as, my prom outfit. All the accessories and even the shoes are the same! The only difference is the dress, obviously. This dress I wore on the first day in Paris, and I love it. It's perfect for the wedding as well, being chiffon, and flowy and I love it! Today's going to be a beautiful day, and I can't wait to be a part of it!!

An Oggsford Man
I'm going to work again today, so I wanted to find a way to make these jeans look summery. Luckily, I can roll them up into capris, so I won't get too hot walking around. And I love the way the jeans look with these gorgeous little shoes I picked up at the clothing exchange! I've really been wanting a pair of oxfords since about December, but (of course), I couldn't just go out and buy a pair. I was so happy when I saw these on Monday - they were the first thing I picked up!

Fascinating Fascinator
Happy Friday, Readers! Today is a very special friday for me, Lindy, and my family, as today is the day before my cousin's wedding. This also means today will be filled with lots of family parties, luncheons and maybe some fun afterwards!
When I was in London, along with buying the deer dress, I bought a British hat that is called a Fascinator. In England, you would wear a fascinator while at a wedding, or some wedding related event. I love hats, and thought it would be cool to get one anyways, but especially since I knew I had a wedding coming up, I thought it would be SO cool to get a fascinator and wear it. This morning is the Bridal Luncheon, so we will be off to the Junior League to look fancy and have some tea. I thought this would be such a pretty outfit to wear with my fascinator, and the dress, from the Clothing Swap again, was a nice dress to wear for a fancy occasion. Happy almost wedding day!

Cardigans in Summer?
I got this skirt at the clothing exchange on Monday. Isn't it pretty? I was pretty excited when I saw it; a skirt like this is one of the things I didn't get checked off my list on our shopping day. It's a perfect, light summer skirt that will transition into fall really well. I'm so excited about it! In other news, I, like Lindy, will be spending a lot of time in a really cold building today. I find it hard to believe I'm actually wearing a cardigan, because it's so hot, but I know I'll be glad once I get to work!

Colorblock
Good, early morning, readers! I have a 9-5 intership day today, so I got to get up real early just to do this blog post for you!
Today's outfit is real simple. I thought I would never use my skinnies this summer, but when you're inside all day, and our director likes the building to freeze, I thought it would be about time to pull them out again. The shirt, on the other-hand, is a nice, flowy summer shirt I got at the clothing swap. It kind of has that "colorblock" style thats pretty pupular now, lots of different colors in different shapes on a shirt. I don't really have anything like it, which is why I got it when we all swapped clothes. It's about time to start getting some crazy ideas again!

Not From Urban?
This outfit, to me, seems very urban. I got most of this at the clothing swap on Monday, and thought this dress, which is like a tank dress, had potential to be very versitale. This dress/ tank wasn't bought at Urban Outfitters, one of the most "Urban" stores, you could say, but It feels like this is something I would see there. I love this casual dress, and it will be nice for a blazing hot afternoon with the girls. Ahhhh the best part of a clothing swap!

Here Comes the Sun
I'm going to warn you, you'll probably see me wearing sunglasses a lot during summer. My eyes are really sensitive to the blinding white light characteristic of summer sun, on top of other things, so I usually wear sunglasses when I step outside. I'll try not to wear them too much, but if you notice a surplus of glasses...that's why!
Anyway, more experimenting with mixing brown and black. This shirt really is the perfect one to do it with, because it already has brown on the pattern. I've been waiting to wear this outfit for a long time, but after all the clothes I've gotten this month, I think I can spare it!

Heat and Other Things
Summer has truly hit here. Right now it's 99 and feels like 105, according to the heat index. I broke out in a sweat just taking these pictures. Luckily, I'm cleaning my room today (a bigger task than you might imagine!), so I have an excuse not to leave the AC too much.

Sexy Shop Girl
Today, I've got to go work down at the shop. Normally, I wear something relativly cute, but today I was feeling a little extra spicy! Yesterday, Abbie and I went to a clothing swap at her church, and I got this shirt. It's a little big, but I LOVE the color, since I don't own anything else red, and it looks great with a pencil skirt. Its a little "sexier" than my usual work outfit, but I love it anyways!

Handy Dandy
I took up sewing about two years ago, and it has proved endlessly useful to me. I'm a major procrastinator when it comes to getting things done, but if I need a dress sewed in two days, by golly, I will get it done! My latest project was these shorts. I made them from a too-big skirt I wore in January, and I loooooooove them. High-waisted black shorts? Yes, please! They go with almost everything in my closet! They aren't perfect, but I'm pretty proud of them, because the front lies flat and they're actually pretty flattering. This isn't a super good picture of them, because it's too hot to do much more than stand around. But you'll be seeing them plenty in the future...:)

The Official Summer Uniform
As I've been coming up with ideas on what to wear this summer, they all sort of look similar. The jeans will be scarce, the high waisted shorts/skirts with belts will appear. Flowy, comfy shirts will be tucked in, and hair will be pulled back in some way, form or fashion. Now that it's officially summer, it's about time to start using my version of the summer uniform. Here is today's uniform look. (Bring it on, Houston heat!)

"Wasting" Clothes
This shirt is one of the things in my closet that I didn't want to "waste" on this challenge, but then June came around and I still hadn't worn it. It's one of my favorite shirts, so I figured it was time to use it! I don't have much to write about today; this will be a very lazy afternoon for me. Hope you have a good Sunday!

Sunday! (Sunday, Sunday)
Today is SUNDAY! Can you believe it? LOL. I couldn't find a better title for this post. Thats one of the most challenging things of this challenge, is creating a title.
Today's outfit is something i've pulled many times, but with some different tops, and such. There is a look i'm really big on this summer, the high waisted, short, a-line skirt, with leggings. I have really gotten a thing for high waisted anything. I love this shirt, quite a bit as I have worn it, now, three times. I love anything with teal and purple combined. I'm working in the shop today, and I've noticed it's gotten colder in there, particularly when I work there long hours. Some may say it is too dark for summer weather, but really, if I get hot, I'll just take off the cardigan and then it will be perfect! In the icebox, I won't get hot!

Backwoods Navigation
You thought the t-shirts were over! Ha!
To be fair, I did too. But now I promise that they really are.
I went to a local hike and bike park with my crew (well, two other teens and our advisor) today to take a course in orienteering. We were outside in the boiling humidity from 8:00-1:00, so as you can imagine, I'm looking a little grody.

Hand- Me- Down Happy
As I have stated many times before, I've got a friend who, literally, gave me half of her entire wardrobe. I've worn tons of her hand me downs before, and surprisingly, still haven't even worn them all yet. This outfit is made entirely of hand me downs, minus the shoes. These top three items were never worn in this combination by my friend before, so what i've been doing is taking her clothes, and coming up with new ways to wear them! Ahh the benefits of hand-me-downs!

Shady Creature
I went to the beach with my youth group today. As opposed to the last two times I've gone, today was perfect! It was warm, the sun was shining, there were clouds, the water was an amazing temperature...I also managed NOT to get sunburned, which is a definite plus. It probably helps that I spent a good portion of the day sitting in complete shade. Trust me to go to the beach and stay out of the sun as much as possible.

On A Summer's Day
Happy Friday, Friends! It's summertime, officially now. I've got on this adorable romper that I love to celebrate the coming of the summer! It's actually the second day of summer, but I forgot to celebrate it yesterday.
This Romper is so cute. It is floral and is in one of my favorite colors to wear, navy. I'm doing my best not to use it often, as I did last summer, but I thought it was about time to bring it out again! I hope you enjoy this outfit.

Jeans in Summer
Today was the last "work" day of our mission trip, so hopefully we won't be seeing any t-shirts (except for Venture scouts) around for a while! After volunteering at the food bank, we went to a park for lunch. That's where this picture was taken, but I didn't keep the jeans on long after it! Food bank policy said we had to wear jeans, which is one of my least favorite things to do in the summer. Luckily, I had a good old pair of nike shorts in my backpack, ready to throw on at the first opportunity presented.

Burnt Orange vs. Rust
My least favorite color is Orange, just so you guys know. I never thought it looked good with my skin tone. I got this shirt as a gift from my grandma, when she went to Colorado right before my trip, and I was immediatly apprehensive. My grandma has a history in our family of getting "Rust" colored clothing, which in our family turns into Burnt Orange. We are all "Aggies" so Burnt Orange is automaticlly the "rival" color, and none of us own anything close to the color, until now. I actually really like the shirt, despite it's controversial color!

Jet Lag
Sorry about not posting yesterday. I was running on about an hour of sleep, and jet lag is starting to kick in.
The outfit yesterday was taken at the London Heathrow Airport at like... 9 am there, which is like 3 am here. I had gotten an hour of sleep, and was ready to crash on the plane. I wanted to be as comfy as possible, though this outfit was quite tacky for me.

So what happens when you still haven't taken your outfit picture and you have to change because everyone is going swimming and everyone who could take the picture for you is busy with something else? You take it yourself in a full length mirror, of course! It results in super flattering and sharp photos that you kind of wish never had to leave the light of day...alas!

Dancing in the Rain
We went to volunteer at a preschool today. It was their "water day", so we knew we were going to get wet, but we weren't expecting it to start pouring! When there wasn't lightning we just kept playing with the kids. It was freezing, but so much fun! I loved staying out in the rain. This picture was taken during one of our breaks.

Last Day? Already?
Today was our last day of the entire trip! I'm so sad to go back to reality, but very excited to go home and sleep in my own bed!
Today's dress is something I got in London. It's a PERFECT dress, and my friend Yiriria and I got it for about 12 or 15 US dollars. Abbie hasn't seen it yet, and I bet you she will be jealous. I chose it 1, because of the color. I love navy. And 2, It has DEERS on them!! If you know me and my obsession with Bambi, the deers on the dress look a lot like Bambi. I love the dress, and added a European touch to it, by adding my good old lace tights.

Next Stop: London, UK.
Hello, readers! I'm now currently in LONDON! It's a beautiful city, and since we arrived yesterday, I've been nothing but busy. Sorry for not posting yesterday, we had some possible WiFi concerns, and I was just flat out tired at 12 am.
Yesterday's outfit was a collaboration of some cute stuff I got in Paris. All adorable. I'll explain more about it later, since I don't have the time right now.
My Outfit Yesterday: June 16, 2012.

The outfit I wore today is definatly a tribute to the UK and London. I have two pieces of clothing with a Union Jack on it. One of them, the scarf (which isn't in the picture, but I wore most of the day), I actually bought in Paris. How funny! The pic was taken in Hampton Court Gardens, or otherwise known as Henry VIII's favorite palace.

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day! Father's Day over at our house is pretty lax, because for the last four years - today included - my dad has been off at boy scout camp with one or both of my brothers. We went out to lunch with my grandparents and aunt, and now we're at home packing (yes, again). Which reminds me! Tomorrow, I'll be going on an in-town mission trip with my youth group, so this week will be a very athletic-shorts-and-tee-shirt type of week. A nice break for me; not so exciting for you.

Dressing Down
I'm going to see a show this afternoon, and after that, I'm going to a party for one of my cousins, who just published a book. I really wanted to wear this dress (mainly because I love it), and as I was sorting through my closet the whole outfit just sort of flew together in my head. I like how the vintage (ie, old and worn out) leather dresses the dress (ha) down a little bit - it gives it a vintage vibe that I'm in love with.

The family plan for today is to run down to the science museum to see the newly opened dinosaur wing, so naturally, I had to wear my dinosaur shirt. Free Day In Paris
Lindy, here coming, once again, from Paris. Today we had our FREE DAY. It certainly has been the best day on the trip so far, just walking around the old part of the city, and enjoying good shops and especially GOOD FOOD. (Not Kidding, we ate SO much food today).
Today's outfit, or the picture at least, was a bit unplanned, in the sense that I didn't know if I wanted to use this jacket or not. Honestly, it was essential, because the wind was really bad today. I asked Abbie to borrow some tights for this outfit, because of the weather. I saw this romper with Abbie when we went to Forever 21 about a week before we went shopping, and absolutly FELL IN LOVE with it. The day we went shopping, it mysteriously dissapeared from the store, but Abbie found it, once again. Abbie's navy bow tights matched perfectly. This is such a cute outfit, and I've learned now that I like to dress very European. I mean, the fashion capitol of the world is the BEST place to find cute outfit ideas!

Je T'aime Paris! Tu EsTres Belle!!
Greetings from Paris on our official "Day Two", or Day two of walking 15 hour days. We may have done a lot "less" in a way, but at the same time, we did quite a bit more walking.
Today's outfit was origionally going to be yesterdays. I wanted to take a pic in front of the Eiffel Tower with my "Je T'aime shirt", but little did I know I would come back to the Eiffel today! The pic I took for my outfit was in front of the Louvre though. It's a nice outfit. It was much warmer today than yesterday, but honestly, we did a paris by night tour, and I didn't want to be cold. So, I wore my jeans! I also bought this scarf yesterday! It's hard to see, but it has the Eiffel Tower. So Cute!!

Today's outfit was origionally going to be yesterdays. I wanted to take a pic in front of the Eiffel Tower with my "Je T'aime shirt", but little did I know I would come back to the Eiffel today! Viewpoint, Achieved
Today I went to work for training, so I wanted to be comfortable and look cute. It's really starting to heat up here, so I didn't want to add anything extra - besides, I couldn't carry anything with my tiny purse!
Earlier this morning, someone said, "I love your dress!" and added, "It looks throwback," as though they thought that was something I didn't want to hear. I quickly told them, "I like throwback!" and internally gave a little squeal of excitement. Whenever a vintage vision is achieved, I can't help but feel good about the outfit the rest of the day.

A Temporary French Girl
Lindy here, coming to you, once again, from Paris, France! I have been out and about for FIFTEEN HOURS. I don't think I've ever been so exausted in my life- and do not have the energy to post all of the things I did. It would probably take hours.
Today's outfit is super adorable. I didn't think I would be wearing it until later, but due to weather within the next few days, I thought it would be best to wear this today. I wore this STUNNING blue dress (which... may pop up in Abbie's wardrobe too... details about that later) and got tons of compliments. I was origionally going to wear only lace tights with it, but it was too cold to wear them! I was so glad I brought this blazer and wore two layers of tights, because it got pretty cold! (In the 50's... thats what we consider cold). A lot of people told me I dress very European, and after walking around in the fashion capitol of the world, I may have to agree. I just got a TON of new idea's for outfits!
May I also mention it's 1 am here?

Lazy Lazy Summer
Summer's only just started, and I've already become really lazy! It doesn't help that I haven't actually left the house yet today - I have lots to do here, and I'm not exactly what you'd call a social butterfly. So today was one of those days where I could feasibly have stayed in my pajamas all day. I didn't get dressed until noon anyway!

Hello From Europe!
Hello Americans! Lindy, here and I'm now in EUROPE! I literally haven't slept in 24 hours, being as we had an overnight flight from Houston to London, and then London to Paris. This is literally what I wore to the airport. I slept in this, and I wore this for nearly two days straight. Honestly, I'm EXAUSTED. This outfit is just a fun little " I'm gonna look cute for the airport" look. This will be the most boring and "not cute" outfit of the whole trip!
P.S. What time is it in the states? It's like... 10:30 (I think) in Paris right now. Late at night!!

Excuses, Excuses
So fun story. Yesterday, I woke up at 10:08 to go have breakfast with Lindy and two of our friends. One of the girls was coming to my house at 10:15 to drive me, so I only had 7 minutes to get ready. I threw on shorts and a t-shirt, had breakfast, came home, and took a nap at 1:00. I woke up at 5:00 and immediately from place A to place B to place C, so I never had time to actually do my post. LAME, I know. But yesterday definitely did not go as planned...I was only awake for 5 hours of daylight! So here is what I believe to be our blog's first triple post, a post of such teenage-sleep-induced failure that you get not one, not two, but three outfits.

The Morning Of...
Good Morning, Readers! Lindy here again, and tonight, I leave on my trip to EUROPE! Our first place we're going to is Paris, and then London. I'm uber excited, for sure.
Today's outfit is the "going to see friends one last time" outfit. Me, Abbie, and our two besties from Ragtime are getting together this morning to catch up before I leave and before our summer gets even crazier. I chose to wear just a small tank with straps because over in England and France, the weather is like... Houston Winter. Which is like... 50 degrees, 60 degrees. I'm enjoying my last day here in the States in some nice, cute summery clothes!

Heritage Festival!
So for complicated reasons involving I'm tired, today's outfit will actually go up tomorrow. But, I couldn't wait to show you my DRESS! This week was so much fun, and it was a total blur - I'm still processing the fact that it's over and I'm home. Yesterday, we went to the university where the Festival took place at 4:30 and immediately got into our fancy clothes. We then had two hours to sit in the green room moaning about how hungry we were (my friend Will and I figured out that the only things we'd had to eat all day were a donut, a kolache, and a glass of tea.) and how nervous we were about our bows. (Yep. The girls had to bow as we were presented.) Next we had the actual two-hour-long ceremony, where my friend was chosen as part of the royal court (Congratulations, Elizabeth!!), and then the ball. After the ball, we all crashed on the futon and watched Anchorman until 3 in the morning. So I'm tired! But I had a ton of fun, and I GOT TO WEAR THIS DRESS I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE HOW PERFECT IT IS.

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I Love Ya, Tomorrow!
There are so many songs about the "days before" something big or exciting happens, so I thought I would use Annie. Even though I can't stand the musical or movie, my red hair and the ambition to be excited about my adventures tomorrow enforced the need to use those lyrics for the Post title.
Hello, Readers! Today is Packing Central and Preparing Palace here at the Hockaday house. I leave for Paris and London tomorrow, and I can't wait to go! You will certainly be seeing some cool landmarks in the background! Today's outfit has been hanging up for me to use for almost two weeks now, but I kept holding it off for some reason. This little lace "thing" on top (I don't know the appropriate term, because it isn't a cardigan or a full shirt) is super adorable, and I love it. I got it as a hand me down, and I also have one in a shade of pink as well, that I have packed in my suitcase for Europe. Overall, today is just kind of a relaxed, throw on whatever you can find day.
P.S. Who is excited to see Abbie's beautiful ball gown today? I know I am!

ACT: Adorable Cute Top
Hello, readers. Lindy here, and I'm posting just a little bit later than usual today. I took the ACT again this morning for the third time.... So, you could say I'm feeling a little worn out. I don't know why I wore this outfit today, because it's pretty cute, and the only thing I am taking today is the ACT. Who knows? Maybe looking cute during the test is my way of getting up and acing it!
This top is super adorable. I really like it a lot, and even the lady at Starbucks this morning complimented on it. It's such a nice color, and it's great for summer, because it is silky and light. I like light clothes!

The Whole Shebang
First of all, I would like to say that I found my lace dress when Lindy and I decided to walk through F21 two Mondays ago. So I actually found it first. She just bought hers first! :)
Secondly, I am SUPER. TIRED. We've stayed up late the last three nights, and gotten up early the next morning. For instance, today, we had a breakfast at 7:00 AM. Normally, I would have rolled out of bed at 6:30 and showed up looking a little messy, but this is a **fancy** thing, so I had to look pretty and wear makeup and heels and the whole shebang. But I didn't brush my hair ;)
Thirdly, tomorrow's the big ball. I won't be updating, because my outfit is my big old ballgown that I can't WAIT for y'all to see! So I'll do a double post on Sunday.

Close Call to Copy Cat!
Do you remember that white lace dress Abbie wore the other day? Well, when we went shopping, I found one that isn't the same, but looks incredibly similar. They aren't the exact same style, but they're the same color, and the same material. This only goes to show, that every once in a while, Abbie and I's styles come together, and we agree on something, fashionwise, although this is a rare occasion! The white dress, I found very cheap at Plato's Closet, which is wonderful! It's always nice to find cute clothes at such a cheap price. For the record, I found this dress first! Copy Cat!

Petticoats and All
We were in rehearsal for four hours today (no joke - petticoats and all), so it only felt appropriate to get a picture in my rehearsal outfit. We have to look relatively nice and wear our Presentation shoes for all of our rehearsals. My friend/escort Will took this during our one break - we got 45 minutes off and ran to the car for our Starbucks as fast as we could!

Modcloth Inspired
Abbie always finds the most adorable clothes from the website, Modcloth.com. I'm always incredibly jealous and constantly look at their different ideas, and ways to create a somewhat vintage and unique look. After looking at all of their ideas, I thought I'd finally carry one out, and try a modcloth inspired look. I took this gorgeous green dress I wore for Easter, and pulled out some navy tights my grandma gave me. And to top it all off, I tried to add wedges and some red lipstick, for the sake of doing so. I really like this look, but I don't know if I could "rock" it every day.

We Go Together Like Tea and Lace Dresses
Day one of the Heritage Festival, and I'm about to wear my third outfit! I wore this this morning to the opening tea-thing. My friend and her other duchess also wore lace dresses - so with our dirty blonde hair down, we all looked a lot alike! I adore this dress; I got it on Friday, and you'll definitely be seeing it a lot. Sorry if this post is kind of scattered; we're running all over the place and this is just a quickie shot I got in my friend's room.
